About filament filter/oiler

Hi,
I d'like know your opinión about filament filter /oiler, i have read that it may be interesting install a filament filter, for clean before enter in the extruder, there its not clear, that add oíl was the best idea... Oíl in filament help to flow it, but reduces the strenght of printed part....
** FILAMENT FILTER/OILER **
- Use a filament filter?
- Use a filament oiler?
- What model?
- what kind of oíl? (olive, sintetic, wd40, another,.....)
- Feedback about the use of it, how this have helped in printing process...
Thanks..

@peirof DON'T DO IT. It's a myth that started when all metal hot ends were first introduced and when heat creep was not understood. On the early all metal hot ends, the heat creep was causing the filament to swell and jam in the heat break. People found that oiling the filament helped with this jamming but introduced other problems. Jamming due to heat creep is now understood and fixed, but the myth that oiling filament is somehow beneficial persists.

thanks for advise...

One more...
Clear, that as oiler, not its recommanable, but.... as dust remover? without oil....

@peirof there were some comments regarding dust when discussing very fine nozzles which are prone to jam with very little help! If you do it just becareful to ensure it doesn't generate a static electricity charge. It could result in the oposite of intended.

I've been, and will keep runing a dust filter. It's as sure as the earth is round that it has some benefit.
In half a roll of filament ( in a room without much trafic) the filter is dirty AF.Every particle kept out of the hotend is a + in my book!

No problem with that at all. (but oiling the filament is entirely a different matter).

Agreed, i have tried to oil as a ditch attempt on fighting clogs with PET-G before i got my profile and machine tuned. Tuned out getting the filament hot enough would help, who could have figured lol.

I'm always astonished at how much dust builds up in my simple dust filter.
