Can I bypass fan VIN?
-
Hi, recently my fans are not working on my Duet2 wifi board. I check the continuity between VIN and VIN on the jumper selection under fans connectors and they are not connect to each other.
Can I solder a wire between this 2 points? And Am I still be able to control the fan speed?
Thank you.

@underpk Have you checked the fan fuse? It’s the one closest to the VIN terminals, if you have a Duet WiFi 1.03 or newer.

@droftarts hi, I have already check and it work properly (check from VIN to both fuse leg)

May I suggest that you PULL the fuse and measure it instead of trying to measure in circuit ?

you can, and if nothing else is damaged you'll be able to control the speed as the speed control is done one the negative side - but it'd be far more advisable to find out what went wrong to avoid any more damage potentially.

If your Duet is recent enough to have a fan fuse, that's unusual, because the fuse should protect the PCB traces.
I suggest you use your multimeter to trace between +VIN and the fan fuse, and between the fan fuse and the VNINpin on the fan voltage select jumper; then bypass whichever of those traces has failed.
