12/24 VDC with Normally Open Endstops
-
We are retrofitting the Duet 3D on a 3D Printer that uses NO limit switches on all 3 axes. The Duet works fine on 12VDC power supply but just the X-Axis switch is reporting an intermittent trigger when using the 24VDC power that comes with the 3D Printer.
Has anyone experienced this issue?

how did you connect the switch? the pin order is different than on RAMPS boards.
-
@oliof It’s connected to the io-in and ground.
-
these are mechanical switches? the supply voltage wouldn't affect the 3.3v level much, it could be noise?
Are you able to rewire the switches to be NC instead, this better in most regards.
-
@bearer I have to replace the switches to do that. They only have 2 contacts.
-
@alexcua is it just being asserted when you're moving or when idle as well?
the inputs already have a filter cap afaik, which version of Duet do you have?
-
It asserts even when not moving.

I decided to replace all the NO switches to NC and that solved it.
