baby stepping on 3.1.1
-
Friend is having issue with baby stepping, say that "it's not doing anything", so a question formed, how does baby-stepping work on RRf 3.1.1?
On marlin for e.g. baby stepping reacts immediately (in the middle of the single G1 line it will change Z), how does it work with duet, is M290 added to the end of the queue and will be executed when it comes it's turn or there's a way it gets called earlier? Will it, like in marlin, work inside a single line or only from next line?

If it's not having any effect, he's probably trying to babystep past what would be z=0. IE if you are on the first layer, and that layer is 0.2 mm thick, you can only babystep down 0.2 mm and then the babysteps will stop taking effect.

@bot ?!?! WHY? Any way to allow it to go in to minus?
-
@arhi yes. Set the minimum Z height to be below 0, IE negative. M208 S1 Z-0.08 for exampe.

@bot excellent thanks, passing on the info

With PPiezo I always pushed babystepping "up" so I never encountered this issue was confused why it doesn't work for him (he was finetuning the bltouch height) but he was going down so he hit the 0 limit.
Still the question "when does it trigger" remains, will it work during the single move (like in the middle of a long line) or only after a while?

@arhi It will take effect as soon as it can, which is often only a split second or a few seconds. It used to take longer, but now it attempts to brute-force its way into the move queue.

@bot said in baby stepping on 3.1.1:
