Duet 3 wiring silicone bed heater wiring
-
So I’m trying to understand exactly how the bed should be wired from the main to the SSR and the duet 3 board. I understand that it goes to the out0 but I’m confused because it states out0 is for powering the heater using a 12v or 24v power supply. My heater is large about 800mm and it’s going into a 120v 30amp socket. I just can’t find a diagram specifically for the duet 3 to wire a SSR. Any specifics is appreciated. I will be using a thermal cutout just as the directions state to use as a safety precaution.

you can use any of the outputs to control the SSR as it needs very little current to be driven.
Just wire the out connection to the 5-32v (or similar) input on the SSR and you'll be fine.
Adjust your config accordingly and set the frequency for that output to Q10.

The wiring from the Duet to the SSR is only a carrying a signal voltage, so it doesn't need to be particularly thick.
Don't forget that when using Out0 you must also connect VIN to the OUT0_input terminals right beside OUT0. This is because OUT0 has the option of using a separate power supply entirely for just the bed heater.
It's not a duet3, but the idea is the same. Only the wires between the bed, the SSR, and the PSU need to be capable of AC voltages.

@Phaedrux Thanks, this diagram helps as well as the explanation. I just wanted to make sure I am wiring the duet correctly to avoid damaging the board, which was my main concern.

@1997alex Here's how mine is wired

@Rushmere3D Awesome! Thanks for the detailed photos. I'll come back and let everyone here know if anything else comes up with wiring the bed.

@1997alex Don't forget to add grounding for any parts of the frame near where the AC heater and wiring will be.

@1997alex
You should maybe consider an emergency-stop (opener) directly inbetween your 230V cable running from the PSU to the silicone-heater-mat because of safety...
(And as Phaedrux pointed out you must have a PE/Earth for safety!)
Good luck!
