Seeking correct names...

Hi,
I am working on building a printer from a kit out of China.
It uses the motion system similar to the Ultimaker printer that has rods that cross with the extruder assembly at the intersection.
What is the correct name for that motion system?
The kit am I using has dual rods rather than single rods.
At the intersection of the rods is this part:
Is there a common name for this type of part regardless of the number of rods?
Thanks.

Cartesian at its heart. I've usually just seen it referred to as Ultimaker style gantry since they are the ones who popularized it.

Head carriage?

Looking at reprap.org I think it would be considered a XY head Z bed cartesian.
