Up for a challenge? 0.1% optimization on ghosting

As the title describes, I'm looking for that last little bit of tuning. This is not a request for general help.
I have some prints from the past that are PERFECT. Quite literally perfect. There is zero evidence of ghosting on the corners.
With my current setup, I can't seem to completely eliminate it. There's always at least 2 or 3 small, decreasing ripples, no matter how slowly I print.
The most impactful change has been to crank the jerk up on the BMG extruder, to 8000 or more. The acceleration needs to be pretty high on it also, but not too extreme as the motor just can't handle it.
I know for a fact it's not resonance of the kinematics, or damped swinging as the head makes turns. This little ripple happens at the beginning of extrusions with no direction changes.
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge about BMG extruders or eliminating that last little bit of imperfection?
Are geared extruders known to have this problem? My previous printer has Flexion extruders that run with just a 10 or 12mm hobbed bolt on the motor.
