Factory reset Duet3 mini 5+
-
Hi all,
I am new to Duet boards.
Bought a Duet3 mini 5+ rev.0.5 as an upgrade kit to a FLSUN Q5 delta printer.Unfortunately I didn't save the contents of the file directory which came with the board and proceed with the updating of the Firmware.
I am now experiencing some problems with homing, first pass goes well but the stepper motors stops as soon as the endstops are activated at the second pass.
To solve this mystery I want to start over again and do a "factory reset" since I've noticed that my directory looks really messy and has multiple files with identical names. To work with a clean sheet would be nice. How do I revert the files to exactly how it was delivered to me? Or is there some simple way to format and make a clean installation of the RRF 3.2.2.
Initially I updated through the YAT software, since I had no access to the DuetWebControl, I think I went from 3.XX something to 3.2.2 not sure of the exact initial version. I did also update the wifi version. And later I updated the DuetWebControl as well.
If there is a similar post to mine, please send me a link here.
Thank you for your support.
Best regards,

Can I erase the SD card and load these files again without any issue? Some kind of a format? Where can I find the standard set of files needed for a Duet3 Mini 5+ ?

Yes. Or you can just rename the old folders, eg 'sys' to 'oldsys'. It will be easiest to load them on your PC. If you have RRF 3.2.2 on the Duet (no need to erase that), download the DWC zip file from https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/3.2.2 and extract it onto the SD card in a new 'www' folder.
Create a configuration set for your printer using the RRF configuration tool https://configtool.reprapfirmware.org/Start , download the zip file at the end, decompress it and put the contents in a new 'sys' folder.

See https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/SD_Card for information on card specification and formatting.

There is little point trying to revert to the shipped configuration; it matches the factory test rig, not your printer.

@kagor I would also add that in RRF (unlike Marlin), the homing motion is defined by the homing files (home.g, homey.g, homeall.g etc) so reflashing the firmware won't change the homing behaviour!
I'd start by using the config generator tool to generate a set of config and homing files. If you're still having issues, post those files on here and someone can help you work out what's going on -
