Cannot connect to web controller
-
Hello, I was following through the youtube link for "How To Connect Duet Ethernet Directly to Your PC - WorkBee CNC Machine" and after updating the files with the new ip address, I was unable to reconnect to the browser.
I think this is because I did not input P when I was writing in the IP address in the config file.
I still have access via YAT although it says the ip address is 0.0.0.0.
I tried this fallback procedure #1, however the sd card is written protected so I was unable to change anything on it.
I am hoping to help on my next move, I don't wish to make it worse than what I seem to have already done.

Micro SD cards have no write protect option, so it can't be write protected. However, if you are putting it into a full size SD card adapter in order to slot it into your PC or laptop, then the adapter may have a write protect slider switch on the side.

@dc42 I realise my mistake and removed the lock. I began to follow fallback procedure #1, however after following the step "Send command M997 S0 to install the firmware." and then "Press the Disconnect button in Pronterface, then when the USB port disappears and reappears about 20 seconds later, press Connect." I am now faced with a system.io.io.exception error for yat. Not sure why but my com3 port is no longer available. I am trying to google it right now but any advice would be great.

That's typically caused by Windows disabling the USB port. Terminate YAT, plug the Duet into a different USB port, and use Device Manager to identify the new COM port. Then load YAT and connect it to that port. If you don't have a spare USB port, reboot Windows.

Thank you kindly!!, I now appear to be connecting to both yat and the web browser.
I still have a concern something might not be 100% but I feel more relaxed now.
What is the next stage? I am guessing configure it to my printer? I would like to double check everything is what it should be also. -
If Workbee has produced a commissioning guide for the Duet on Workbee, follow that. Otherwise, please follow the instructions on this page https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Step_by_step_guide. You can skip the sections on choosing components.
