Duet Maestro board unresponsive.
-
Hello -
Not sure what I have done here. But my board seems "dead" I've disconnected every cable from the printer, an M3D Promega, and removed the board from its' mounting. When connecting to USB, I get 3 red LEDs lit but the PC doesn't see the board (my tablet does see it as "Generic Billboard device) but I cannot seem to get it to register as a serial port (tried Windows and Mac)
Any thoughts on what to try? or is it just toasted?

Does the green LED indicating the presence of 3.3V power light up?

No... not when connected to USB only.
Nothing is connected to it

It sounds that your Duet has developed a fault on the 3.3V supply rail. As it is in a Promega, best talk to M3D.

@dc42 Thanks - support ticket opened.
There is a small spot on the U2 regulator... I wonder if it grounded and popped the reg? I have done nothing to the printer other than change nozzles... but If I read the wiring correctly, that might have been enough to short something to ground.
Thanks

U2 is the 3.3V regulator. It normally survives having its output shorted to ground.
