We are trying to heat a large surface area with a bed heater, and we are continually getting a heater fault or overshooting the temperature buy about 5 degrees. Would using PID to control fix this issue? Or should we continue to use Bang-Bang? If we continue to use bang bang what could we change to fix the issue.

      Thankyou, Gregory

Why not just try the PID auto tune

Switch to PID and do an autotune as @bearer suggests.

What is the heater fault you are getting?

Thank you for the advice, the machine is now working and has everything tuned.
