Dead board?
-
I have a Duet wifi 2 board which is almost 1 year old.
I have been having trouble with it staying connected to my wifi network despite the wifi strength being -46dB. While trying to trouble shoot the connectivity issue another has developed, I can no longer connect to the board using YAT.All the LEDs to do with the power supply come on as normal and when the mains supply is on the fans start up so i am fairly confident that the issue is not to do with the power supply. Having said that, i have no idea why i cannot connect over YAT and i am wondering if the board is dead.
Can someone help?

First thing I would try is a different USB cable -- that has bitten me multiple times in the past. And then work meticulously through https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/What_to_do_if_your_Duet_won't_respond

@oliof I have sadly
The cable i am using was working previously to communicate with the board

@Yames said in Dead board?:
@oliof I have sadly

That doesn't prove that it is still ok.
Are the 5V and 3.3V LEDs lit?

Try removing the SD card, and connect to the Duet via YAT. A failing/corrupt SD card can cause the Duet to get stuck in a boot loop, and also cause flakey DWC connection.

I think i have found the problem.
I removed the SD card so that i could update the firmware however my PC couldn't sustain a connection for more than a minute or so. I was able to copy the firmware off the SD card and load it onto a new one, then followed the steps on https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Installing_and_Updating_Firmware#Section_Fallback_procedure_Num_1, and so far it is working. So a bit strange but it looks like it was the SD card + firmware needing updating.
