Duet 3 io_0 dedicated to Panel Due?

  • @dc42 I just ran across this page you linked in an other thread...
    https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_Mainboard_6HC_Hardware_Overview#Section_IO

It seems to indicate that io_0 is reserved for the Panel Due and "may not be used for any other purpose". I've had my X endstop there since day one. Am I going to have to move it?

  • @gtj0 The reason here is that currently io_0 is listened to as serial interface unconditionally (this will change). So in theory it could happen that noise on this line will lead to random behavior. In practice this is really unlikely (and I also have my endstop on io_0) but still until this has been changed the recommendation for the average user is to avoid this IO port for anything but serial connections.

  • @wilriker Thanks for the explanation Manuel!
