42BYGHW609 motor with 24V power supply
-
Hi,
I am using DUET Wifi. Previously I used with 12V power supply and worked fine.
I recently bought 42BYGHW609 from Wantai. Also, I bought 24V power supply. DUET wifi is working fine with 24V. Also, I connected E3d V6 24V, that too working fine.
But, when I tried to connect Wantai stepper motor 42BYGHW609 to 24V, it is not moving. As a precaution, I connected only one axis X-axis motor to the board. (Same motors worked fine with 12V). Will these motors run at 24V?
Thanks & Regards

are you homing before trying to move?
is the motor energising, as in can you turn it by hand after sending the move?

I am trying to do both. Trying to home, it is not homing. Trying to move, it is not moving. Even I just removed the belt from the motor and trying to rotate, it is not rotating.
My question is that 42BYGHW609 can be run with 24V?

You can use either 12V or 24V power with any stepper motor.
Is the motor vibrating loudly instead of rotating? If so, that usually means that you haven't got the wires paired correctly. See https://duet3d.com/wiki/Connecting_stepper_motors.
If it's not vibrating, check that it is being energised - see adavidm's post.
You could also run M122 and check that the reported VIN voltage is close to 24V.

That's absolutely right. I connected one old motor and it was running. Then i checked for the wiring. New motor's Red and Green wires were swapped (from the supplier itself). So, I corrected the wiring. Now all the motors are running.
Thanks for the suggestions.
