PS_On with Btt relay 1.2 shutdown relay ?
-
hallo,
i own this relay
https://www.biqu.equipment/products/bigtreetech-reply-v1-2-automatic-shutdown-module-after-printing
it needs 3.3-5v or high to start or low output to shutdown the power.i am not sure how the ps_on works on the duet 2
do i have to connect 3.3v from the board (duet 2) to 5v Input to the relay and negativ from the relay to the ps_on pin ?on this way i should get power from the board when i start the Printer and the ps_on pin is Ground so that the relay has high Signal for the power ? the relay is waiting 10 seconds for high Signal and after this time it shut down the power supply. than i set the switch of the Printer off and can start the Printer with the switch again.
is that Right ?
do i Need the Diode ?

Might help with how the Duet works?

thx for your answer but i am still not sure…
to work with my relay i Need the x-box Modus. high is on, low is off.
is that possible ? -
[Bellow is my speculation. I am not an electrical or safety engineer so please don't act on it and seek educated opinions. There are high voltages involved so it's a very serious matter.]
Looking at the schematic of one of the duets, the PS_ON seems to be a transistor that connects PS_ON_IN to ground when switched on (e.g. via gcode commands in config.g and in end of print script). This means that if you connect a load between let's say +5V of the duet and PS_ON_IN, you can switch voltage to that load and since the small AC/5V power supply on the relay board is presumably isolated, it should work (not creating power loops, etc), as long that everything you connect to that relay is isolated from the duet and it's power supply (e.g. the reset button to start the machine).
I don't know much about that company and the quality of this relay board but overall the concept looks reasonable to me.

thx for the answer.
i checked the voltage and it should work.
but do i Need the flyback Diode ?
in the diagram i can see some diodes but are they flyback diodes ?![alt text]( image url) -

@joeko said in PS_On with Btt relay 1.2 shutdown relay ?:
but do i Need the flyback Diode ?
As bearer said, no. Diode is needed when you drive a bare relay. In this case, you drive an onboard electronics that drives the relay so it should take care of the flyback diode.
