Installing BLTouch clone
-
Good evening everyone! I installed a Duet Wifi into my Davinci Pro 1.0. I also attached a BLTouch clone (latest version of TriangleLab's 3DTouch) but I'm not able to configure it properly. It retracts, and acts as it should be every time i run the mesh grid compensation I receive "Warning: the height map has a substantial Z offset. Suggest use Z-probe to establish Z=0 datum, then re-probe the mesh." Moreover the "show mesh grid heightmap" return an empty map.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Fabio -
Are you running firmware V3 or V2?
-
Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later
Firmware Version: 2.05.1 (2020-02-09b1)
WiFi Server Version: 1.21
Web Interface Version: 1.22.6I have a custom machine as I wrote before. I'm trying to understand how the BLTouch works, in order to obtain an automatic bed calibration before each print. I have all optical min endstops (X, Y, Z) installed (and working) plus the BLTouch. I need a guide to mount it I think. For example, at which offset the tip of the BLTouch should be wrt the nozzle? Should I disable the z min endstop?
Bests,

@SerFabio89 The BL Touch in your case a clone, replaces the Z stop switch.
Please post your config.g
If you have 'Independent' motors on your Z axis, I think you can use bed levelling.
Because your bed is tilted slightly you are receiving the warning about the Z offset.
If you only have 1 Z motor you will need to manually level the bed. Some helpful guides, just incase you have not found them previously

Later, how to force the print to run a mesh leveling and apply the mesh before each print?

I have a single motor on the Z axis. Anyway I manage it to work. But would be nice if you @PaulHew can double check it. The config.g remained the same. Instead I changed homeall.g as the following:
G91 ; relative positioning
G1 H2 Z5 F6000 ; lift Z relative to current position
G1 H1 X-1000 F3000 ; move quickly to X and Y axis endstops and stop there (first pass)
G1 H1 Y-1000 F3000 ; move quickly to X and Y axis endstops and stop there (first pass)
G1 H2 X5 Y5 F6000 ; go back a few mm
G1 H1 X-1000 Y-1000 F360 ; move slowly to X and Y axis endstops once more (second pass)
;G1 H1 Z-1000 F6000 ; move Z down stopping at the endstopM280 P3 S160 I1 ; Alarm Release and Push-Pin UP
G30 ; probe current position to reach the endstop
G90 ; absolute positioningG1 H1 X20 F3000 ; compensate for gap between nozzle X and Y and real position in the printer
G92 X0 Y0 Z5.02 ; set Z position to axis minimum (you may want to adjust this) - it includes the G30 dive height and the height difference between bltouch trigger and nozzleNow the home all command (G28) correctly positions the nozzle at the origin but remains lifted 5.02mm (that is the distance between the trigger point of the bltouch and the tipo of nozzle). I also took into account the x offset of the nozzle.
Is this the correct approach to setup the printer?
If i change:G1 H1 X20 F3000
G92 X0 Y0 Z5.02with only
G92 X-20 Y0 Z5.02will it work? does it accept negative values?
