Duet maestro stops in the middle of the print and resets.
-
I need some help to find out what wrong with my duet maestro board. In the M122 report it says cause: reset button.
I have tried to see if there are any shorts, couldn't find anyone.
and tried to pull out the button, but it seams fine.It dosn't happen every time but more and more often.
See M122:
-
Does the reset button work if you do push it? And if you do, does the M122 still show the cause as reset button?
Is the board actively cooled?
Is it always the same print or any print?
Can you share your config.g for the sake of completeness?

@Phaedrux said in Duet maestro stops in the middle of the print and resets.:

Yes to both
Is the board actively cooled?
No
Is it always the same print or any print?
Any print

This is on a railcore? Is the Maestro enclosed along with the other electronics in the side panel?
Getting some active airflow in there may be required for the Maestro. It runs hotter than the Duet wifi.
Can you grab a M122 after it's been printing for a while so we can see what the MCU temp is at during a print? After a reset it will have had time to cool down and the max temp record will have been lost.
-
Yes, it's a Railcore but I don't have the electronic covers on.
I tried with cooling today, same result. It has worked ok before and then the room was hotter too.
I have been checking the MCU temp while printing and it stays below 40C.
-
Ok, thanks for chasing down that hunch. Please continue to provide an M122 after it resets.

@TRex, with reference to https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_2_Maestro_Wiring_Diagram, do you have anything connected to the 13x1 header strip labelled EXPANSiON on the Maestro? In particular, a wire connected to the RESET pin on that connector?
-
@dc42 No, nothing on any of the pins
-
@dc42 Do you have any other ideas?
-
@Phaedrux @dc42 The DIAG LED is on all the time if that could help.
I'm so fustrated with this printer that I've almost given up, finally had it up and running and printing fine for a while, and then the duet starts with this problem, the one component I thought I wouldn't have any problems with.
In contrast to my ender3 with no problems at all at a 1/10 of the costNew M122, when printing for a while:
-
Correction: The DIAG LED turns on (and stays on until reset) when I home z (BLTouch), just when the motors starts it seams like. I have 3 Z-motors, 2 of them on the expanion module.
But if I drive z without homing, it stays off. I'll try a print without homing z to see what happens.
-
diag on after using bl-touch is normal.
-
@bearer Tnx. Then that's not the problem.
It didn't help to print with BLtouch disconnected either so.
M122 right after reset:
-
It's also resets when it's in idle
-
Hi, sorry to see it's still acting up. How old is the board and where did you purchase it?
-
@Phaedrux I bought it from filafarm.de in March 2019
-
In that case it is well outside of the warranty period, and while we can't offer warranty replacement on this unit we can offer a possible refurbished unit on exchange. Please contact Roland on sales@Duet3d.com to inquire. Include a link to this thread.
-
@Phaedrux Thanks. I'll do that.
