I’m able to connect over USB and Diag led is on solid
-
Hi @all
I’m new to the duet platform, but I have been impressed with the functionality it provides to my old tevo little monster. That said I have run into a problem while I was setting up the board.
After setting up the board with the reprap online config, I had to reset the wifi at my router to set the printer to a static ip.
After doing this I was un able to connect via wifi so I plugged in the USB and it wouldn’t show up in my device manager.
I disabled the wifi module via the config.g on the sd card and reset using the jumper but it’s still not visible in the device manager.
Is there anything else that I should try to try and re established a coercion ? -
you've seen https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/What_to_do_if_your_Duet_won't_respond
sounds like you'd benefit from trying different usb cables and/or usb ports before concluding the board is faulty.

@bearer
Yes I’ve been through the connection troubleshooting post and I have verified my USB leads with an arduino but when I connect I still get the diag led stuck on along with the 5v and the 3v led -
So you get no hardware detection sound from windows?
Do you have bossa installed to check if it's showing up as a com port?
Do you have a USB hub to put between the PC and duet?
Even if it works with an arduino it's worth trying some other cables/ports/pc if possible.

Hi @Phaedrux
Yes I have bossa on my pc and it doesn’t show up as a port, I’ve tried a handful of cables with and without a USB 2.0 and 3.0 hub
I also Duplicated it on my Mac, using (Is /dev/try.*) to check ports.
It still just shows the diag ,USB, 3.3v, 5v leds -

Is /dev/try.*
Should be
ls /dev/tty.*

@droftarts
Yes, sorry that what I used I was just typing this on my phone and it’s not on a icon on my phone keyboard -
@oxidemill said in I’m able to connect over USB and Diag led is on solid:
reset using the jumper
Is the jumper still fitted to the erase position?
-
@Phaedrux
I’ve been installing the jumper powering it on for 20sec ,then powering it down and removing it before plugging it back in to USB -
Can you post a photo of the board showing your LEDs lit?
-
-
@Phaedrux
This is just with out the SD card
-
So the LEDs look correct. You've got 5v and 3.3v lit. The diag LED is on, but you've wiped the firmware, so that's expected. You've tried without the SD card in, so it's not a config file issue.
Based solely on the LEDs and your descriptions it should be showing up as a bossa port in windows. If you've exhausted all of your USB cables and possible USB ports then it may have failed in same way that's preventing it from coming up.
As one last attempt I would try the erase jumper again and try a USB cable that you've verified carries data with another device. Have device manager open when you connect it, and choose view > show hidden devices. If nothing shows up, hit the scan for hardware changes button.
When and where was your Duet purchased?

On your Windows PC, try a different USB port, or try rebooting Windows, then see if the Bossa port shows up in Device Manager under Ports - COM & LPT, or an Unknown Device shows up. If you are using a USB hub, try disconnecting the hub for the PC and reconnecting it. USB ports often get into a state in which Windows doesn't notice when things are plugged into them (it happened to me again this morning).

@Phaedrux
I just went though and tried your suggestions but still same response unfortunately.
I ordered it from my local distributor in Melbourne, aurarum . I ordered it on Aug 16th -
@dc42
I went through and disconnected all of my USB cables and hubs from my pc. I then went and removed any un used USB devices in the Device manager. I then restarted the pc but It still won’t show up on device manager Even after scanning for hardware changes.
Also like you suggested I went through and tried all of my USB ports both on my pc and on my Mac but it still has the same problem. -
Alright, thanks for the testing. The majority of the time it's a USB issue, so it's worth trying to go down that route, but occasionally it could be something else like the MCU itself.
So please contact your reseller and initiate a warranty exchange. Please include a link to this forum thread as authorization.

have you tried a different usb cable?
-
@Phaedrux
I have reached out to the dealer but are there any forms I need to fill out for duet Directly or will the distributor take care of all of that ? -
@oxidemill Who is the reseller? They will likely direct you to this site to fill out the warranty form, or they may have one of their own to fill out.
