Dudes about bed compensation
-
Hi,
i have some dudes about how to use the bed compensation, how no....
How would be the correct use of bed compensation:
A- Telling Duet to use it in the DWC
B- Put the gcode "G29 S1" in the starter gcode of the slicer.and
If for any reason, I have it put in both places, in the DWC and the Slicer .... the bed compensation. Would it apply 2 times? producing this that the nozzle followed a mirror of the bed?
The movements of the nozzle that are made by the DWC, IF THE BED COMPENSATION is selected, are modified by it? this would have the mission to check if the compensation is valid, and follow the bed, or on the contrary I would have to make a trial impression, and see if the heightmap is valid ...

A- Telling Duet to use it in the DWC
B- Put the gcode "G29 S1" in the starter gcode of the slicer. If you always want to use mesh bed compensation, then put G29 S1 in the slicer star GCode, or perhaps at the end of your homez.g/homeall.g/homedelta.g file.
If for any reason, I have it put in both places, in the DWC and the Slicer .... the bed compensation. Would it apply 2 times? producing this that the nozzle followed a mirror of the bed?
No, only once.
The movements of the nozzle that are made by the DWC, IF THE BED COMPENSATION is selected, are modified by it?
Yes, bed compensation is applied to all moves. I test bed compensation by putting something a few mm thick on the bed, then I increase the dive height in M558 to make sure that probing is safe, then probe. I then remove the object, do a few XY moves using DWC, and watch the head avoid the imaginary object.
