speed for nema17

  • So i am using 42HS48-1504A 1.8 degree, 1.5 A, nema 17 stepper motor and they seem to be working slower than usual compared to my older build on same speed factor. Below is my config file on speed. Do you see any problem ? why might it be slower ? what should i do ? i just upgraded duet firmware version to 2.02beta1(RTOS) (2018-08-12b5) and created new config file using reprap configurator. Thank you in advance.

    M350 X16 Y16 Z16 E16 I1 ; Configure microstepping with interpolation
    M92 X80 Y80 Z4000 E95.24 ; Set steps per mm
    M566 X900 Y900 Z12 E120 ; Set maximum instantaneous speed changes (mm/min)
    M203 X6000 Y6000 Z180 E1200 ; Set maximum speeds (mm/min)
    M201 X500 Y20 Z250 E250 ; Set accelerations (mm/s^2)
M906 X800 Y800 Z800 E800 I30 ; Set motor currents (mA) and motor idle factor in per cent
    M84 S30

Yoir accelerations in the M201 command are very low. On a Cartesian machine, values of 800 to 2000 for the X and Y axes are more usual.

  • @dc42 said in speed for nema17:

    800 to 2000

    what do you suggest ?

is below good for start experimenting ?
    M201 X1400 Y1400 Z1400 E800 ; Set accelerations (mm/s^2)

Leave the M201 Z value alone but try 1400 for X and Y.
