With the sd card removed and the heater unplugged both E1 and E0 lights are on (next to vin, 5v and 3.3v lights at the corner of the board)

Unfortunately not, is that the most likely malfunction?
Should I get another to test? -
RE: Hotend won't stop heating!
@phaedrux
Sorry about this
OK, I have a duet2 WiFi board. The other parts are from a creality ender 3, so cartesian.
Without power to the hotend (either through just USB or with it disconnected) the thermistor is reporting correctly. I used the ferrules supplied, but in case I did not crimp them correctly I have removed them and exposed fresh wire and have the same problem.
It just seems to start heating and not stop, once it gets over the set maximum heat it then gives a fault to turn off the machine and check connections, so I turn it off and try again once it has cooled down but to no avail. I lowered the max heat (100c) and it does the same, and it keeps going. I never let it go past 240c before turning it off.If there's anything else I need to tell you please let me know

Hotend won't stop heating!
I'm new to duet, in fact, my duet2 WiFi board just came today. I have set everything up following the guide here and everything seems to be working except for the fact that the hot end automatically starts heating and won't stop.
I have checked the wiring several times.Am I missing something? Is there a setting I haven't configured right?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help
