I was able to use the MSYS2 version of make and get passed that point; However, I am facing another issue now. Multiple definitions of "_malloc_r" and "__malloc_current_mallinfo".

It seems the two of them are defined both in:

• c:/program files (x86)/arm gnu toolchain arm-none-eabi/12.2 rel1/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/12.2.1/thumb/v7e-m+dp/hard\libc.a(libc_a-mallocr.o)
  and
• ./src/libc/nano-mallocr.o

I'm not sure which one is the right one in this case. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can resolve this?

Just a few notes:

1. I changed all projects to the 3.4.6 tag
2. Before this issue, uint32_t was considered undefined, so I added #include <stdint.h> to nano-mallocr.c
3. For the build configurations, I wanted to use the build configuations mentioned in the instructions
   for Duet3 (instructions say "Duet3_V06 or Duet3"); However I didn't find those for the RepRapFirmware and so I used Duet3_MB6HC instead.

I am trying to build the RepRapFirmware on my machine; However, I have been having issues in doing so.

I used the information found at https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/wiki/Building-RepRapFirmware for this. Initially tried using branches in the tables for 3.4-dev. All projects built successfully except for the RepRapFirmware. Next, I tried the 3.5-dev, to be sure before posting here.

• I have added C:\Eclipse\Firmware\ReprapFirmware\Tools\crc32appender\win-x86_64 path to my system variable.

• I have added "C:\Program Files (x86)\Arm GNU Toolchain arm-none-eabi\12.2 mpacbti-rel1\bin" in Window > Preferences > C/C++ > Build > Build Variables on Eclipse IDE. (I also added the same to the RepRapFirmware project from its properties.

• My Eclipse IDE version is 4.29.0 (2023-09)

• I have checked multiple times to make sure I have the exact branches as mentioned in the tables of the instructions.

• I have imported "DuetWifiSocketServer" into the workspace only.

• Typing where rm in CMD outputs C:\msys64\usr\bin\rm.exe and I have added C:\msys64\usr\bin\rm.exe as a path in my system variables as well.

• Typing where make in CMD outputs C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\bin\make.exe and I see C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\bin\make.exe is in my system variables.

This is the error I get when I try building:

I appreciate any help or guidance as to how I can fix this.

I was looking at the "RepRapFirmware" and "Duet3Expansion" and realized there is a board address for each type of expansion board and I see that the RepRapFirmware uses that address as the index of the "boards" array in the ExpansionManager when an expansion board announces itself.

This made a question in my mind: "Can multiple expansion boards of the same type be connected to the RepRapFirmware? if so, how would the two expansion boards be differentiated? or would the RepRapFirmware only consider the last expansion board which has announced itself?"

(I did see that expansion boards send their uniqueId in the announcement, but I couldn't find where the unique Id is used to differentiate two boards in the RepRapFirmware)

I am thinking of using a custom board that connects to Duet 3 Mainboard 6HC via CAN, sending and receiving messages over CAN. I was wondering if this is doable and if there are any suggestions/recommendations about this as I am new here.
The goal is that I send a code (let's say M1000) to the Mainboard and that causes a specific message to be sent to my custom board through CAN and vice-versa.

I have already looked through the RepRapFirmware source code a little and can tell I probably need to add the code(s) handling to GCodes2.cpp; However, I am unsure of how the communication between the main board and the custom board would have to be setup.

I appreciate any help on what things I would need to modify in the RepRapFirmware to achieve this or where I should start from.
