Delete 'non empty' Folders
-
not too familiar with Duet Web Control, but I would (either):
- pull the SD card and modify on computer
- enable FTP support and deal with it in a supported FTP client.

Is there any way from the web interface to delete entire folders regardless of their contents. I just had a macros file decompress in the wrong place now I have dozens of folders with files in all in the wrong place - deleting files then subfolders then folders is a pain in the butt .....
Not via Web. As mentioned, direct manipulation of the SD card is probably the most pragmatic answer.
Unless... does this happen to be a Duet 3 with Pi? If so, the SD that the Duet 6HC 'sees' is actually /opt/dsf/sd and you can SSH into the Pi and do anything you wish.

This is indeed a Duet 3 with RPi.
I'll try the SSH route - the PC claims the SD needs formatting which I know isn't true so I'm guessing it's a Linux based partition.

ah, yeah, the SD card for the PI has only got a small /boot partition for linux and what you see as the SD card in Duet Web Control is just the folder Danal refered to, which lives on a ext4(?) filesystem on a partition that windows can't deal with without adittional software.
-
No worries. I've had issues historically messing with partitions across systems so I tend to steer clear,

I have the same t-shirt ... >.<

Sorted - SSH route works a treat much appreciated.

Just for completeness, SSH also opens the option to do SCP/SFTP through something like WinSCP for those less inclined to the command line.

You can delete all files in a folder with 3 mouse clicks, so it is easy enough to delete the files in the folder first.
-
Perhaps but when there are 20 folders each with files below another folder it becomes pretty tedious.
I downloaded the tuning macros from here Tuning Macros
and copied them to the wrong place - problem is they automatically extracted ...

those are my macros, and yes, if you accidentally put them in the wrong place, it's painful to have to remove them on the DWC since there are so many folders with so many files.
My condolences.

No issues at all here really. Any opportunity to learn and gain experience isn't wasted time for me.
I shall be putting your macros to the test over the coming weeks whilst commissioning a new linear rail based CoreXY and figuring out its limits (and mine).
