normally this is caused by a wiring mistake.

          it should not matter
          see
          https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_Wiring_Diagrams
you swapped blue and red. but its the same phase.

swap the x and y motor.
if the same issue persists. it could be the driver.
it it moves its the wiring or motor.

I switched x and y and have still Drive 0 Error Message. So is the driver broken? Can i use the second extruder driver instead of Driver 0?

Disconnect the stepper giving the error and see if you still get the error message.

Thanks Frederik, i did it and it shows still the error Message with driver 0. Does this mean the driver is broken?

The part on the board could be bad OR their could be an manufacturing flaw causing the short.

Quality boards are usually gold plated and sometimes you can get a little tiny sliver of gold connecting two traces on the board - but without the proper inspection tools they are very hard to find.

Contact your vendor and see about a repair.

As to using the spare driver - yes you can try that - but I don't know if the existing problem could pose a danger - perhaps ask @dc42 for advice.

                      Hey Community,

I have my first Project, a BLV MGN Cube with the duet 2 Wifi board. I get the board at my birthday in august and now was the first test drive this week. The problem is that I get the error "short-to-ground reported by driver 0", whenever I want to home X or Y axis and I get strange movements and loud noises.

I don't know how I got there, because I did everything according to the manuals, I test the wiring to identify the coils of the stepper motors (bluerolls) and connect everything like in the discription of the board. At the first run directly I have horrible noises from the motors and directly this error. The movement is very, the only words to discribe this is "hopping" and "chaotic". Was anyone of you facing a similar problem and can help me?

                      Z-Axis works fine.

                      sincerely
                      Tobias

@TF_Sinthoras, if it's a genuine Duet purchased from an authorised reseller, then I approve a warranty replacement and you should contact your reseller. Unfortunately a small number of stepper driver chips suffer infant mortality failures.

I have sent the warranty contact formular a few days ago, has it arrived? I didn't get a confirmation email yet or any other reply.
