M92 steps per mm for dual axis drive
-
It does not seem possible to specify steps per mm uniquely to each motor of a multi motor axis drive. When you have a larger system this becomes more relevant -- I currently have a situation where the two screw drives on the Y axis are marginally different steps/mm ending up with about 2mm variance over a meter. This should be easily compensable in software but instead requires accurately matched lead screws currently, which is proving an issue.
Is this something which is being considered or worked on, or can anyone point me in the right direction to be able to work on this myself?

@jamesb we don't currently have any plans to implement this. If/when we do, we may wish to restrict it to Duet 3 MB6HC because of the additional CPU load placed on step generation. Currently, multiple axis drivers are treated as a single driver for step generation.
