      Hi,

Just tried upgrading to 1.19.2 and got as far as submitting M997 S0:1 I then got the screen shown in the image and then I waited. How long should this take? One and a half hours later I decided to abort and now all I get is 'This site cannot be reached'

I uploaded all the files onto the SD card on my laptop.

I don't seem to be able to attach an image!!!!

            And you followed these directions?

            https://duet3d.com/wiki/Upgrading_to_DuetWiFiFirmware_1.19

The process after M997 shouldn't take long at all, certainly not hours. I think mine was probably under a min, or less.

Yes, followed the instructions but was a bit confused when dealing with the zipped files. I created the /www folder and unzipped the compressed download to it. However, I noticed that the www folder now had three zipped files in it. As there was nothing in the instructions about this, I presumed the firmware would look after this when upgrading. I then followed the rest of the instruction right up to the point of issuing the M997 S0:1 and at this point I got the message 'Updating firmware… Please wait while multiple firmware updates are being installed.' This message appeared 6 times, one under the other on my screen. And I waited to no avail.

The reason I had to remove the SD card from the Duet and load the files from my laptop is because when I plug the USB lead into the Duet I cannot see the SD card in File Explorer. Should I be able to see it?

Sorry, that part I can't confidently answer because I do it all on a Mac.

When I get home later I can check to see if there should have been zipped files inside the /www folder. I don't think so.

Yes there should be files with .gz extensions within the /www folder and its subfolders. But no .zip extensions.

To diagnose the wifi connection problem, connect via USB and send M552 S0 followed by M552 S1 to try to connect to your access point.

After sending M552 S1 this is a snippet of the log:

                      READ: ok T:22.7 /0.0 B:22.5 /0.0
READ: WiFi reported error: no known networks found
                      READ: Wifi module is idle

So you need to tell the system the SSID and password of the network you want to connect to, as described at https://duet3d.com/wiki/Getting_connected_to_the_Duet_WiFi#Connecting_to_your_access_point_using_firmware_1.19_or_later.

Still struggling - when I connect to the computer and go into Device Manager the board shows up as 'Teensy USB Serial Com5'
It looks like I screwed up good style.

Don't ask me why but I seem to have success!

I followed the instructions 'Connecting to your access point using firmware 1.19 or later' and downloaded the terminal program. Went through the process of SSID and Password and got the right response. I then went ahead with unplugging the USB and firing up the printer. Everything seems to be working just fine and it is reporting all the latest versions.

So, the big question is why did it hang when upgrading and never report it had succeeded?

Perhaps because you didn't do the step of running the M587 command, either from a terminal emulator or from a macro file as suggested in the upgrade instructions.

Future firmware updates will be easier. The update to 1.19 on Duet WiFi was special because we changed the way that the SSID and password are set up and stored.
