Setup help required / possibly faulty wifi module (Fixed: Use YAT)
-
Hello all,
I seem to be having a problem setting up my Duet3d Wifi. I purchased this on the 7th september last year (so the warrenty runs out today ) and only got around to opeining it a week ago - you can thank university for the dely
When I plugged it in for the fist time (usb) and followed the wiki for how to connect. the board seemed to have no firmware ( it is possible that I accidently pressed the erase button )
I followed the fallback prcedures and got all the firmware installed again and am able to connect and do everything. except get the wifi to connect. when the board is powered on, the 3.3V and 5V lights (green and red) are lit up, aswell as the two red lights by the usb port. the blue light on the wifi chip flickers when initial startup but dont turn on afterwards.
I have been keeping a word doccument of what I have been doing so I will try to correctly format it for the forum, so I do appologise for any bad formatting.
Edit: my wifi setup is using a TP link AC1200 (which is downstairs) and a TP link wa801ND setup as a Access point with same ssid ( fully working as a roaming point ) which is in the same room as the DWifi ( 2 meters away"

From the connecting instructions:
Load a terminal emulator program on your PC and use it to connect to the Duet. For Windows users we suggest YAT, https://sourceforge.net/projects/y-a-terminal/. The baud rate doesn't matter. The reason for using a terminal emulator instead of a 3D printer host program is to prevent the characters in your network password getting converted to uppercase.
In your case, it's the characters in the SSID that got converted to uppercase.

Cheers, ill try that now
Edit. worked first time. Cant beleive something so simple was the problem. Thankyou very much
