I acheive a very crude form of multicolour printing by changing the filament for specific layers.

To do this I currently sit watching the printer with my finger hovering over the pause button hoping to spot when the end of the layer before ends.

It would make things a lot easier for me if there was a “pause at the end of the current layer” button.

I know this can be achieved by editing the G-Code and some slicers may even do it natively but it would help me a lot to have such a button.

Assuming, of course it is actually possible to detect layer ends.

Honestly, this is the easiest way to do it.

Upload your sliced gcode and tell it what layer you want to pause at. It adds the pause gcode. Then you can have a macro to unload and load your new filament and resume.
