Protect access to firmware system files

We are a new 3D-printer manufacturer using DuetWifi and PanelDue. We would like to limit the access to firmware files, to prevent customers creating problems by making incorrect changes.
Is this possible?

Would it be sufficient to remove the System Editor tab from the Settings page?

@dougal1957 no, as long he shares his software source it is still open source.

I vote NOT to do this because there will ALWAYS be the option to put the SD card in a computer and do anything to any file/directory.
With greatest respect: Please don't inconvenience end-users legitimate use cases in order to attempt to control idiots who will still have total access.
