Cnc lathe using Duet as controller
-
Does anyone has been used duetwifi as a controller for a cnc lathe ?
I have a proxxon 250 lathe and I intend to turn it to cnc lathe.
I am searching alternative solutions for controlling it (will have 2 Nema 23) and the cad software to be used.Anyone with experience on this ?

I've only briefly looked at Fusion 360 for turning and post processing it for grbl a while back, it should also work reasonably well with the Duet.
Which CAM software were you intending to use? (The Duet board doesn't care if you're printing, milling or turning as long as the CAM software generates compatible g-code)

Hi, I don’t have any experience with using a duet board for a lathe, but I am considering that at the moment. I’m looking at buying a lathe that is quite small and has CNC capability, and I need a control board to drive the stepper motors. The lathe comes with mountings for nema 23 motors. As another person commented, the duet should have no problem driving the motors, the question is rather whether the software that generates the G code can generate the G code that is compatible with the duet board. If I find any other information, I’ll post it on the forum here.
