Updated to V3, now nothing works!



  • Warning, I'm a noob. My config can be seen below. I went through the reprap configuration tool to generate this and I am not sure if I have my stepper motors correct. The icon I would press on my duet panel for my hotend is missing, also?

    Rig is:
    Folgertech FT-6 with standard kit (this has the heated bed, plugged into bedheat and bedtemp)
    Duet Wifi 2 (No duex)
    E3D V6 hotend (plugged into e0 temp and e0 heat)

    Any and all help is appreciated, I am still learning quite a bit!

    Edit: If it's just all sorts of messed up, the hubby has been revising it to try and figure out the issue. This is like... iteration #20.

    Well that config is for RRF2, not 3.

    Send M115 to see what firmware you actually have installed.

    You should update from 2.05.1 to 3.0 to 3.1.1

    Easiest way to update is to upload the entire firmware zip file in DWC and it will take care of the rest.

  • Thank you for the response, Phaedrux! I did as you said. I'm currently running 3.1.1, my updated config is below. The problem we develop is with the heaters. Going through the configurator, we set the heaters up to match where they are plugged in on the board, but when we do this is what happens:

    The bed temps disappear, and they are also faulting, with temp readings at 2000C.

    We have tried every combination possible to fix it and we can't. I didn't realize it at the time, but my hubby reverted us back to the v2 to get them to work (even though we are running 3.1.1).

    We are also having problems with our BLTouch/Homing (Shocking!). I've popped that code in too.

    Thank you so so so much for having a look, we've been beating our heads against a wall for a week 😞 I'm still learning how to manipulate gcode and with the update to 3.1.1 I feel like I've fallen massively behind.

    Are you certain that you are running RRF 3.1.1? Send M115 to check.

    Also send M98 P"config.g" to see if there are any error messages from commands in config.g.

    you first have to upgrade to 3.0 then to 3.1.1

    most notably 3.0.0 before 3.1.1

  • I did it again, it's moving up to 3.1.1 but it's been saying "please wait for the updates to be installed" for about 10 mins. The console on the paneldue says "Error: Failed to add SSID to remembered list"

  • I am now, for some reason the wifi module stopped working during the install. I am attempting to get it to reconnect.

    I've gotten the wifi module to idle, but after giving it the m587 command with my ssid and password it simply says "OK", and doesn't do anything. I can't access the web control.

    You may need to reflash to module. Send m997 S1.

  • Ok! Thanks so much for your help so far. We're redoing the config file now because all of our troubleshooting got it all mixed up!

    We had a question about the i/o mapping since we have the bl touch. Will the endstop pin just be zstop?

    When we do that, the M574 command for Z disappears from config and the only thing left is Z-Probe stuff.

    Depends if you want to use a Z endstop and the z probe at the same time. It may be easiest to just add back the endstop definition afterwards.

    That way the cnfigurator will set thing sup for the probe to use it for homing.



  • We don't technically have a z endstop, just the probe. Not sure if that counts.

    We've run through a bunch of stuff, updated, edited, auto-tuned (cause that's a thing now, that's cool 🙂 ), but we're running into bl touch deploying issues. Shocking, one more bl touch question.

    Probe tests itself upon startup. M280 commands are not working, however.

    What do you have in your deploy and retract macros?

    What M280 commands are you trying to send?

    If you don't have a Z endstop, then you've got nothing to worry about.

    post your homing files as well if you want those checked over.

    Did any wiring change?

    Was it working in rrf2?

    ~~Pretty sure, according to the diagram.

    I used to have it on heater3 with v2 and it worked fine. When it stopped working after trying to update, we went back to basics and followed the tutorial to the letter. That included moving it to heater7.

    We changed that in the config, however. We're just not sure if any of it is right now because of the update.~~
