      Hi everyone,

      just shot a nice stepper-motor on da "bay", which I would like to test with a duet3 (bigboard, not the new mini) and now a bit puzzled how to set the M906 for it...

      • here is a piece of the datasheed regarding the stepper-specifications:

      And now the question is M906 setting the max A with 2phases or 1phases max energized?

      I assume the statement (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M906_Set_motor_currents)"^3 Divide by 1.414 for RMS current as used in Marlin implementations for Trinamic drivers" means that duet´s M906 uses 2phases-energized, what would be in my case those 3.7A (of course *0.9... to keep that thing cool running)?

      Help welcomed!
      Best regards

        With 1 phase energised. RRF has always used peak current. Marlin versions generally use RMS current for Trinamic drivers, but peak current for other makes of driver.

          @dc42

          Thanks! As usual 🙂

          So I got it the wrong way round: RRF uses Peak-A and marlin uses RMS-A

          Thanks!
