Hi, I hope someone can answer this? (probably me being thick).
I am setting up the motors in the config tool and am at a loss as to some of the values I should use...

My motors are e3d so assume I'm setting the X drive. This stepper motor has 400 steps, a current of 1.68A, 2.8Volts, a resistance of 1.65 and inductance 2.8 mH

      So my values should be...
      Direction - ok, understand this
      Microstepping - Leave on x16?
Steps/mm - ok, the formula calcs this fine
      Max Speed Change - ???
      Max Speed - ???
      Acceleration - ???
      Motor Current - 1680?

How do you determine these values when they are not quoted with the motor. Are there formulas you can use, or is it just guess work?

      Regards, Andy

@handyandy My suggestion: Leave the microstepping on 16 and with interpolation on. Use the defalts for the other, raise them after testing.

The speed/accel have them as high as you want to have good prints, but not have the printer walk accross the room. 🙂 Each axis may need different settings, Z is usually lower then X & Y.
