Error: M569.6: Driver is not enabled

I am following the instructions here: https://docs.duet3d.com/en/Duet3D_hardware/Accessories/Magnetic_Encoder

I can communicate with both of my 1HCL boards but when I try to run M569.6 P51.0 V2 as in the instructions, I get the error "Driver is not enabled".
How can I fix this?

Try enabling the driver using M17, e.g. if it's controlling the X axis send M17 X.

@dc42 That worked, thank you, but now my motors won't move. I will post in another thread.
