      Good evening,

Would it be possible to operate an extruder in closed loop mode?

      For instance with:

      • Duet3D magnetic encoder on the extruder's stepper (commutation)
      • Duet3D magnetic filament monitor near the hotend (close the loop)
      • Duet3D 1HCL

If this would be possible, it could improve:

      • Estep calibration, material independent
      • Retraction
      • Backlash in the bowden tube
      • VFA due to excentric hobs
      • VFA due to speed variations caused by poorly meshed (dual) extruder gears
      • Possibly pressure advance
      • Non linear extrusion
      • Extruder feed forward

      Thanks in advance!
