Fan tachometer input

Does RRF do anything with the information from one? it shows up on the web monitor, but it'd be really nice to have an option to use it as a trigger to cancel the print job. Like the Prusa MK3 does if it detects that the hotend fan has stopped spinning.

Currently it does nothing apart from display the data. We could introduce a new M-code to specify which fan it is attached to and that the print should be cancelled if the fan should be on but the tacho reading is below a certain value.

That'd be really nice. I'm having it display my water pump speed, and most people would probably monitor the hotend fan. So I'm not sure that the check whether the fan should be on is even necessary.

Maybe a stupid question or something I missed in the wiki but how do you even connect the signal wire when there are only two pins for fans in the first place?

The fan tacho output can be connected to PB6 on the expansion connector via a diode (cathode to tacho output). It will only work reliably if used with a 4-wire PWM-controllable fan.
