Duet 0.6 on RRG Pursa i3v2 setup/issues
-
Wow haven't been active on any forums about this kinda stuff since reprappro was a thing.
Ok, I am attempting to wire up a Duet 0.6 from an old Omerod to a reprapguru Pursa I3 v2 Replacing the mega 2560/ramps that a friend of mine fried. I assumed the biggest issue would be wiring in the additional Z motor and end stops, as the config for the Omerod 1 is different and lacks the IR probe and auto bed comp. But I am honestly not sure why it isn't doing anything I tell it to do.
Telling it to manualy home gives me an echo unable to finde home.g for the axis, but the files are on the SD. and sometimes only one of the Z motors activates when I can get them to at all. It has been updated to the most recent firmware. At least I think it has, I did interpret what I read that the 1.24 was the correct one for the old duets, and it hasn't bricked so thats good.
Ive tipple checked the wiring, tested the motors separately.
current other issues:
-no reading on the hotend probe (IDE says open circuit, will replace with known good to check)
-bed temp reads 2000c (think that might be an incorrect thermoresistor value in the config)I think a part of my control issues are with the macros, but I have been out of the game for years now and can't remember half of how to work it. I have dug through the old instructions and such.
If anyone could point me int he right direction that would be great, or at least help me figure out what the right questions are I need to ask.
Thanks for your time.

@cola said in Duet 0.6 on RRG Pursa i3v2 setup/issues:
home.g
No such file should exist. homeall.g homex.g homey.g and homez.g are the default files on the sd card. Maybe show us the file structure on the SD card and contents of the before mentioned files?

It might be a good idea to rerun through the web configurator to get a new config set.
https://configurator.reprapfirmware.org/Start
And you can check over your resulting setup with this: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/ConfiguringRepRapFirmwareCartesianPrinter
What version of DWC are you running? Did you update it as well along with the main firmware?

YES! thankyou for looking, Sorry about the vague cry for help I was not familiar with the mega2560/Ramps stuff and I had been T/S it for hours when I just ripped it out and slap-dashed the Duet into it.
95% operator Error, 5% I wired Ymotor to one of the Z Motors and the 2nd Z motor as the Y....yah made me feel stupid I missed it 3 times when I went over my wiring.
I found the confg tool on the site last night helped a lot. Have all Axis homing properly now. The thermoresister issue is also corrected I was using R4700 when I should have had it in R1000. And some other issues I corrected after getting caught up on the new Firmware. I had missed the part about not being able to do manual movement before a home.
Current issues:
Web interface-
Web Interface not updating any values unless I disconnect and reconnect.
Pointerface updates and displays properly. -
Can not set hotend temp in Web or see temp when turned on from pointer.
Again in pointerface I can turn it on and see temp. -
unable to select a tool to test the Extruder
Can't seam to do it even after running the Mcodes to define/set still get Error: Attempting to extrude with no tool selected.
So I think I'm like 99% there, will keep trying. Also nix'd me a Duet2 to get my Omerod up and running again, I expect that to go smoother then this has been. Now that I've been relearning things the hard way.

I think your DWC files need to be updated. That may explain the weirdness.
https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/2.03/DuetWebControl-1.22.6.zip
Upload that zip file as is and it should update. If not, you can manually extract the zip file into the /www folder.
You may need to add
T0
to the end of your config.g so select the tool at boot up. -
Yep yep, Disregard all! Soon as you brought it up I looked into it and 5min ago updated it. As of now everything is working properly. All controls are functional. Thanks! Going to run a few tests and try a quick print.
