Do I need to do anything special to use this servo? I intend to use 5v and heater 3. I'm not too clever when it comes to electronics so I don't really want to fry anything if I can avoid it. I'm more concerned about connecting to heater 3 as I presume the signal is 5v? Or is it 3.3v logic?

The signals on the heater pins on the expansion connector are 3.3V and active low (so use the I1 parameter in the M280 command). Some 5V servos work ok with 3.3V control signals.
