Solved-First time setup. Cant get steppers working properly

Hi All,
First time Duet user and just getting it set up on my BLV Cube. I wired the steppers according to the example on the BLV site, i.e. Blue, Red, Green, Black
When I test them using the
G91
G1 S2 X10 F3000
example the carriage moves to the right rear as it is supposed to.However when I try
G91
G1 S2 Y10 F3000
the carriage does not move at all -- the motors just grind until they stop. It's as if they are woking against each other.
I tried setting the Y motor to S1 rather than S0. No difference.
I tried all kinds of wiring changes and swapped X driver for Y but one of the axis always grinds with no movement.Any help would be appreciated.

I believe the Y stepper is not wired correctly.

Identifying the stepper motor phases
Here are two ways you can pair the stepper motor wires into phases:Use a multimeter. There should be a few ohms resistance between two wires that belong to the same phase, and no continuity between wires that belong to different phases.
With the motor wires not connected, spin the spindle between your fingers. Short two of the wires together, then spin the spindle again. If it is much harder to spin than before, those two wires belong to the same phase. Otherwise, try again with a different pair of wires shorted together. -

It actually was wired correctly. What I found is that when I was switching X and Y one of the pins for Y had pulled loose. Once I reconnected that I was able to get them operating correctly.
