Upgrading Delta to a Duet board?

Hi folks!
I am running an Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus with some upgrades (Alu corners, bracing) and am pretty chuffed with the print quality but I have to run it really slow (15mm/s), and straight walls aren't perfect.

I'm curious if I upgrade only the mainboard to a Duet Wifi, would I get improved speed/quality? I will be adding on a genuine E3D V6 hotend soon, as well as a bmg extruder.

if you cant print higher than 15mm/s then there is something wrong with your kossel linear plus.
upgrading to the duet wont fix that. the trigorilla board should be able up print 60mm/s no problem.

have you upgraded the trigorilla to the latest marlin? the original version on it is pretty out of date.

i would suspect some kind of mechanical problem.
try grabbing the nozzle with your fingers and see if there is play in the hotend.

I can definitely run it at 60mm/s but I get lots of overshoot on sharp corners, only by running it at 15mm/s do I get the results i want. I'm using marlin 2.0 as well. I haven't checked the nozzle, will try tonight.

Check for looseness/play everywhere! Motor pulleys on the motor shaft, slipping belts or incorrect tension, loose carriages, loose arm joints at the carriages and effector. Most Deltas can cope with high speeds, even my little one can do 250mm/s travel moves without losing position.

Veti is correct. The trigorrilla should produce good (to very good) prints at 60mm/sec. Something is wrong, not just the controller.

By the way, I have an AKL+, and did upgrade it. Print quality did not visibly change all that much.

Hey all! Thanks for the feedback! I've gone through my printer and the play is minimal, perhaps there's something I messed up in the slicer. I'm really surprised to hear the AKLP can do 60mm/s on the trigorilla, I'll take a closer look there. Thank you everyone!

@Danal - I've read through your upgrade blog several times, that's what got me interested in getting the Duet Wifi Thanks for taking the time to write it.
