no USB connection on PanelDue 5i
-
Hi all,
I'm new here, so please don't judge me to hard if i did something wrong with this request for help.
My case is as follows:
Few days ago I received my PanelDue, that i would love to use for my new build (HEVO) with RADDS/DUE configuration. The display came with the Firmware version 1.22.1 (but with only one extruder/icon) on it.
First thing i did is of course try to connect it to USB and to upgrade firmware to the latest version in order to get more than one extruder showing on the display, but here the problems starts - no matter what i did i was not able to get COM port to show in the device manager. The computer i use for modeling and scripting is with Windows 10 pro( x64).Can someone please point me if there is other procedure to get COM to show in device manager/bossa except the one described on here.
PS
Also i have not being able to make this display talking to RADDS, but this is completely different story/question and is here only if it may help to resolve the above issue -
There are updated instructions here https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/PanelDue_Firmware_update.
The number of extruders displayed will be one until PanelDue has established communication with the printer, and the printer has told the PanelDue how many tools it has.

Thank you for this instructions!
I will try again on a different computer and will tell the results here. Also thank you for the clarification on the extruders.
Is it valid for RepRap Firmware only or it is the same for Repetier?
(most probably ill switch to RepRap for this machine - to get use to it and for better compatability) -

Hi,
As promised this problem is solved for me.
it is seems like some loose connection on USB (or Erase button), because in one particular position in space it worked and now I'm with the newest FW. Actually i done it twice already.
The only thing left to do is to make it talk to the RADDS now, but this is for another topic.
This topic can be marked as resolved! One thing i would like to propose to the documentation is pin-out (if possible), because my display (5i) is with a black coating on the PCB and there are no marking on it for the X1 connector.
Just to mention - new dark theme is great!
Thanks to David for all hard work on this project!

BTW there is a build of RepRapFirmware for RADDS/Due. But if course it doesn't support networking.
