i'm usually in favour of threatening to format it well into next tuesday; jokes aside please check step 3 https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/1.)+Getting+Connected+to+your+Duet/7#s6

Setup YAT to use <LF> as the end of line character. Go to "Terminal" Menu -> "Settings" -> "Text Settings" -> "EOL sequence:" set to <LF>

(edit: I'll leave the SD stuff to Ian; tag me when you get back to networking)

No, just something's causing it to be a bit temperamental. Does the SD card socket get hot to the touch? Can you have a close look (camera with a macro lens is ideal) at the pins on the back of the SD card socket? I'm just wondering if it's fully soldered. We haven't had any issues with this on Duet 3 (yet), but it occasionally happens on Duet 2.

Unfortunately your M122 response stopped before the useful part which diagnoses the SD card. How are you communicating with the Duet over USB? Are you using YAT, or some other serial console?

Both should be on the same network*, but if the SD card is having issues then that could explain the web issues as well.

If it persist after sorting the SD card you can use arp -a repeatedly on the computer to see if more than one MAC address replies to 192.168.1.115 which is the address the Duet is using.

*) assuming there aren't multiple routers involved.

That's the correct speed for Duet 3, so I'd expect the socket to be okay, perhaps a faulty/failing SD card. Have you got another you can try?

How are you changing the IP address? Using YAT? (Are you using YAT?) Please show the commands and replies.

The problem is, when ever i try to change the IP to a stactik one it looses the SD card, and i haveto format it to oblivion to get it to work again.

or to be precise any alteration to the IP adress destroys everything on the SD card

how are you changing the address?

And if you can connect to the duet using a dynamic address, why not stick with that - or create a reservation in the router?

@Torppa Please explain how you are 'changing the IP address'. Because you should be able to do this (temporarily, until the next reset, at least) without the SD card even in the Duet, by connecting via USB, and sending the commands directly.

Are you editing the config.g on your computer? What programme are you using to edit it? Notepad should be okay, but other programmes may introduce odd characters that are upsetting the Duet.

Or are you editing it in the DWC editor? It should save the changes on exit, then ask if you want to reset.

Not touching the IP again on the duet since it crashes it.

So far i have tried DWC,YAT and editing on notepad. all of the options crash the printter and i haveto start from formating the SD card

@Torppa can you update the firmware? You’re on a beta version. Either 3.0, or the latest 3.01-RC6 will be fine.

Probably could, how ever the printter sits in one place and weighs around 47kg, i dont have a reliable laptop and the printter is build so the aces to the duet is under it in a metal enclosure.

I would avoid mooving it around since ill most likely drop it sooner or later.

                                      ?

if you can access the SD card and YAT, put the firmware file on the sd card and upgrade using YAT. (or if DWC is stable with the dynamic address, just upload the firmware and let it do the upgrade).

Kinda difficult to say what to do when information isn't forthcomming.

                                            https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/3.0

                                            Duet3Firmware_MB6HC.bin

                                            and these for good measure

                                            Duet3_SDiap_MB6HC.bin
                                            DuetWebControl-SD-2.04.zip

put the files in the /sys folder if transfered using the sd card, if uploading to dwc it will put it in the right place when you upload and ask you to update.

if using YAT then you need to run M997 S0:2 after having placed the files on the sd card
