Wifi not working on duetwifi
-
I have some problems with my duet2wifi.
For some time now the wifi has been unreliable when i turn on the printer. It would connect most times, but about 1 in 10 times it dont, and i had to restart it or connect it to a pc to manually get it to connect. The printer worked fine yesterday, but today it woldent connect even what i tried. I`ve spent most of the day trying firmware updates, and installing evertything from scratch.
It seems like i cant get the wifi module to idle, or even to update the fimware.

Any suggestions what the problem could be?

sounds like a bad wifi module.
even if you can't update it it should still run its current firmware, which it doesn't seem to be doing.
long shot but could try starting the Duet without the SD card, wait, insert SD card and run
M21 M552 S-1 M552 S0 M997 S1
over serial after it has started to try flashing it without being affected by any config on the card. There is also the possibility to enable some debug info using
M111 P14 S1
but doubt you'll get any adittional info from that given the current state. -
Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly it didn’t make any difference.
The WiFi module is a ESP-12S.
I have a ESP-12F on a Wemos D1 just lying around. Could I just pop that in without any issues with the software? -

absolutely-ish. run
M997 S1
after the procedure to flash the new module, is only the 12S and 07S that is used by Duet3d but it has to do with certifications - on your own you can use any ESP with the same footprint and the 12F just has a few extra pins on the end. -
It worked!
Thanks for the help -
Bare hyggelig!
