Install DSF on a Kernel <4.8 | GPIOCHIP missing

Is there a way to get DSF running on a raspian with Kernel 4.4? I´ve got a banana pi with raspian installed. But the newest kernel is 4.4.

@PCR Unfortunately this is not possible. Early versions of DSF did instead rely on wiringpi but that turned out to be too unstable so a conversion to Linux GPIO driver that was available from Linux 4.8 was done.

ah ok what a bummer. But understandable. Hopefully bananpi release a raspian version with 4.8....

i now installed armbian. with a newer kernel! Thanks to @jay_s_uk for pointing me to this!

enabled spidev, changed buffer size etc. But know i have this error

[fatal] Could not connect to Duet (Error 517. Cannot put line into event mode.)

What could this be ?

seems the pin does not support interrupts?

you can change pin in /opt/dsf/conf/config.json
