Short-To-Ground when turning on heaters
-
I get the following errors when I turn on the heaters (bed OR extruder)
The board itself flashes a few times on and off. In standby mode my Vin is around 24V, but when turning on any heater it goes to 0 immediately.
I don't have any other problems with the board. The temperature transistors work perfectly, the motors work, homing works. I just can't get the heaters to work

@nerdiator said in Short-To-Ground when turning on heaters:

if your vin goes to 0v when turing on the heaters you have a short in your heater or heater wiring (the error from the stepper driver is likely a red herring)

@bearer I checked the wiring of the heater I get a full circuit, so I don't think it shorts

then your description of the problem must be wrong or lacking.
incidentally if Vin goes to 0V the duet would reset, or are you running with an external 5v source?

It sounds to me that either your PSU can't supply the heater current, or there is a bad connection between the PSU and the Duet. It's also possible but less likely that there is a bad joint on the Duet, either between the VIN terminal block and the PCB, or between the 7.5A fuse holder (assuming it is a Duet 2) and the PCB.
