Ok a newbie here needing help seting up a Hybrid stepper motor driving a rotary chuck 1/3 belt drive

      2phase
      1.8 step angle
      2.3 rated voltage
      2.8 current/phase
      0.83 resistantce/phase
      2.2 inductant/phase
      140 holding torque
      220 rotor inertia
My micro stepper driver will let me set pulse per rev at 200 400 800 etc. and from .5 up to 3.5 a

I dont have and cant find a tuning chart or much else for this set up. What i need to know is what should i set the following
      Amp?
For driver- pulse per rev and amp
For controllor- pulse per rev, pulse per second, start up pulse per ms,slow down pulse per ms and 0 speed per ms.
Any help would be greatly apreciated

        i have related question - my motors are nema17 1.5 amp 12v

        • should it tune M906 to 1500 value ?
        • where i get number for idle increase (i60 in example) ?
        • how to determine maximum speed, acceleration and change (M201, M203, M566)?

        thank you!

        [[language]]
        M906 X1000 Y1000 Z1000 E500 I60 ; Set motor currents (mA) and increase idle current to 60%
        M201 X1000 Y1000 Z1000 E1000 ; Accelerations (mm/s^2)
        M203 X20000 Y20000 Z20000 E3600 ; Maximum speeds (mm/min)
        M566 X1200 Y1200 Z1200 E1200 ; Maximum instant speed changes mm/minute

It's generally best to set the motor current to about 85% of the stepper maximum so 85% of 1500 = 1275mA

Idle current is largely up to you - 30% works well in most situations.

Max speed, and acceleration and instantaneous speeds will vary depending on the wight of your axes, how rigid the frame is, the torque of the motors etc etc. Start low and work up.

              stepper volts????

in motor selection process i'm confused a bit. as per your advise imgoing for 24v bipolat motor and found this one , https://goo.gl/tCTJn1

it is rated 2A and has specification of 2.8v per phase (that is only on printed specs that came with the moror) … will it work with duetWiFi? or i need motor with 24v per phase ? or it does not matter?

Yes that is a good motor to use. The stepper drivers are constant current, so it is normal for the phase voltage to be much lower than the supply voltage.
