      How much current can i draw on the 5v out of the 3HC expansion board?
      if I need around 2 A should i just step down one of the 12V outputs?

            but unfortunately there is no mention what the 5v can handle.

            @dc42 can you comment?

                Up to 0.8A from 3.3V and 5V combined, of which no more than 0.5A from 3.3V.
