DWC RRF3.2 - can't download macro folder using zip functionality
-
I just updated to RRF3.2 a couple of days ago. I'm working on the macro organisation and design for the printer and wanted to download the entire folder as a zip file, similar to how you would for the system folder - right click - download as zip. However the option is not showing up in the macros folder. Is there something I'm missing / some other way to do it?
-
Have you selected all the macros you want to ZIP and download?

Yes. I just checked after your comment - it seems it doesn't offer a zip option if there are folders selected, but does offer zip if there are only files selected. I wonder if this is the intended functionality? Sure would be helpful to be able to download the entire root directory.

It won't work with subfolders at the moment. The best options are either pull the SD card and copy, or setup an FTP client and download them that way.

I see.
I've never created any sub-folders so I never noticed this.

Is there a guide you would recommend for setting up FTP access?

There's not a lot to it really. You enable FTP access in config.g and then use something like filezilla to connect to the IP address of the duet.
Filezilla settings from what I recall.
Tab General: Encryption - Only use plain FTP (insecure)
Tab General: Logon Type - Anonymous
Tab Advanced: Server Type - Default
Tab Tranfer Setting: Tranfer Mode - PassiveThere's also these two options: https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/20979/any-way-to-easily-backup-files?_=1611036017982

@Phaedrux Thanks for the redirect to https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/10880/rfm-reprapfirmware-filemanager-duetbackup-successor - It's really good. I added a post with some more explanation than the readme gives to help others get started a little quicker.
