Mesh probing with probe offset
-
I've got a BLTouch probe on my delta printer. The printable radius is 185mm and the probe is mounted at X-18 Y8.
I'm now wondering if it's possible to run a mesh calibration on the whole printable area.
Of course in some areas the nozzle will be outside the print bed since the probe is offset. However mechanical wise that would be fine, the print head can move to these positions.
How can I achieve that? When I use M557 with a 185mm radius I get warnings that some points can not be reached.

You'd have to increase your radius for probing to allow it to leave the bed surface. But if the probe sticks out on one side, it would extend too far on one side of the bed wouldn't it?
This is another reason why a nozzle probe is recommended for deltas. The offset of the probe causes many complications.

Yeah, I could do that in my calibration macro. But the weird thing is that it works fine for the auto calibration. There it's probing on the edges of the print bed even when the nozzle is outside of the printable area

As I recall (and it was a long time ago that I had deltas) the auto-cal procedure allows for that due to specific needs of the auto-cal procedure.
