Shortage. 3.3 and 5V LED are not switching on.

Shortage, how can i repair it?
So i think i just shorted something on my board. Vin Led is on. 3.3V and 5V is off. When i additionally connect the board to my Laptop the 3.3V and 5V Led are switching on and everything works fine, so i think a mosfet is broken that converts the Vin to 3.3 V and 5V.
My board is from Makerbase but it should have the same Layout. Fuses look good. U know which mosfets i have to check ? -
@d0minik96 Which board? On the Duet 2, U3 is what supplies the 5v power.
-
Ah sorry it's a Duet 2 Wifi!
-
i will check the mosfet on Monday, i dont have the equipment at home! Thank you!

@d0minik96 A mosfet is a switch. U3 is a voltage regulator. From searching the forum the part number is: A4403GEUTR-T / A4403GEU-T

Oh^^. Do you know how to check its funktion ? Just measue voltage drop on input and output ?

@d0minik96 AFAIK, if the 5vdc led is off with VIN, but on with USB, then U3 isn't working. Also, I haven't tried to replace any parts on a Duet 2.

I have the same board. you blew the voltage regulator. first step: replace the massively oversized fuses they shipped with the board. second step: move the jumper from 5vin to 5vext. then take a usb cable, cut off the connector, and wire the red wire as 5v+, black (in my case I used an old anker powerline cable, and the cable sheath is the conductor with no black wire) wire to negative, and use a usb wall charger that can supply 1A of current at 5v.

No need to cut usb cables; ther is a dedicated 5v_ext header to use when moving the jumper, see link below for details.

AFAIK, if the 5vdc led is off with VIN, but on with USB, then U3 isn't working.
just to elaborate on that, there may be a jumper (INT 5V_EN) and fuse (F3 7.5A) between Vin and U3 (depending on type and revision of the Duet) - but if the fuse is good and the jumper is set then odds are U3 is toast if the 5V LED is off with everything disconnected. (I guess its technically possible U2 and the 3.3V rail is the culprit causing the 5V rail to drop below the forward voltage of the LED)

ok thank you guys! I ordered the chip and luckly i'm a working student on my University and there is someone, who helps me to replace the chip. But for the time beeing i just connect my powerbank via the usb cable
